Year 5 pupils took part in a fun and interactive English activity called Puzzling Prefixes, designed to strengthen their understanding of prefixes and word meanings.
Using specially designed puzzle pieces, the children matched prefixes to root words and their definitions, carefully analysing how each prefix changes the meaning of a word. This hands-on approach encouraged logical thinking, problem-solving, and curiosity about language. Through this engaging task, pupils deepened their understanding of spelling patterns, vocabulary development, and word structure — all while enjoying an active and memorable learning experience.
