In our recent Year 2 science lesson, the classroom was filled with excitement as our students became little scientists and chefs while making banana bread! This hands-on activity combined science, creativity, and teamwork in a fun and delicious way.

The children explored healthy ingredients, learning about their properties and nutritional benefits. Step by step, they carefully followed the recipe, taking turns to measure, mix, and add each ingredient. Along the way, they observed fascinating transformations—soft bananas turning into a sticky mixture, and finally, a golden, fluffy bread emerging from the oven. This was a perfect opportunity to see science in action, demonstrating how materials change when combined and cooked.

To make the experience even more special, our young chefs decorated their own chef hats and proudly earned their chef certificates at the end of the lesson. The activity not only sparked curiosity and learning but also encouraged teamwork, patience, and a love for experimenting in the kitchen.

This banana bread lesson reminded us that learning can be fun, hands-on, and delicious all at once!
