Let’s take a look at what Year 1 A has been up to:
In the month of September it is the first month for our students and first time in school for our little first graders. It is a big transition and change for these students, having this in mind they are learning the rules and routines in the classroom. All students are adjusting very nicely.
Our Year 1A students have been learning through interactive teaching as well as educational games in various subjects.
In every Math class children are practicing counting to a hundred. They are counting on the big number line from one to twenty, and also backwards from twenty to zero. They are practicing how to use number lines when adding and subtracting. In one of our interactive classes children learnt what certain symbols mean and how we can use them in Math’s, when adding or subtracting.
Children have enjoyed reading short words with high frequency word stripes. It is very exciting seen their faces when they are able to blend short sounds in words and then read the words.
All of lower primary students had gone on a field trip to Avala. When we arrived students had first gone up to see the Monument of the Unknown Hero. Our students really enjoyed going up the stairs and taking pictures, as well as climbing to the very top where the statues were standing, observing the color shape and height of the statue. All the children really enjoyed the experience and had asked to go on another trip like this.
