5 A had an amazing two weeks of learning in preparation for World Book Day. We studied an Inuit legend from North America. We created our own book covers for the story, re-wrote the legend from a different character’s point of view, learned about the history of the Inuit and, in geography, we looked at how they adapt their lives to the climate and environment.
Our greatest success, into which most effort was put in, was creating a play script version of the story which we performed and recorded to produce our very own audio book. What we are also very proud of is the teamwork we put into writing a class story. The ‘Story in a Box’ was created using a group of random objects found in a box which were our inspiration and starting point for the story.
Two weeks of hard work but great fun!
