Last week, all the students and teachers at Chartwell Lower Primary School took part in a series of sporting activities during ‘Sports Week’, organised to challenge and encourage the students to remain physically active.
The week began with the students getting an opportunity to play fun games without frontiers. This was followed by our project ‘A Walk and a Smile’ where all the students and teachers together took over 30,000 steps around Ada Ciganlija and Hyde Park.On Wednesday, outdoor yoga classes were held for all year groups aiming to make the day as inclusive and fun as possible. On Thursday, the highlight of the week, for many, was the ‘Athletics’ competition where the students competed in the 100m, 200m and 300m race and long jump.
Finally, on Friday, a dance assembly was held where the teachers handed out certificates and medals to all the participants and winners. The excited students, grinning from ear to ear, unquestionably enjoyed our ‘Sports Week’ and are looking forward to other Chartwell sporting events in the near future.
