As an all encompassing education includes the social element and the need for children to become more independent which is sometimes neglected or overseen, Chartwell organizes residential trips during the school year giving its students this opportunity as well. There are two residential trips in the secondary school, one of which is a ski trip.
This year, Lower Secondary students had an eye-opening visit to Šumarice Memorial Park in Kragujevac, Serbia. They explored the powerful monuments and the 21st October Museum, learning about the tragic events of October 1941 and the importance of remembering history.
This trip inspired deep reflection and respect among our students, reminding us all of the value of peace and the need to honor those who suffered.
Chartwell Upper Secondary School's residential trip to Athens was an unforgettable experience for all involved. The students had the opportunity to explore and enjoy the breathtaking sights of the ancient city. They immersed themselves in the fascinating history, visiting iconic landmarks like the Parthenon and the Acropolis. The trip was not only educational but also filled with fun and relaxation under the warm Mediterranean sun. They spent their free time on the sandy beaches, enjoying the serene blue sea. The students bonded over their shared adventures, making new friends and creating lasting memories. They also savored the delicious Greek cuisine, trying traditional dishes like souvlaki and moussaka. Guided tours provided them with in-depth knowledge about the rich cultural heritage of Athens. In the evenings our students and teachers enjoyed strolling through the vibrant streets of the town. Overall, the trip to Athens perfectly blended education, recreation, and cultural immersion, leaving everyone eager for more adventures.

Upper Secondary residential trip to Barcelona 2023
Every June Lower Secondary students celebrate the end of the year with a school trip usually around Serbia. Last school year, the students accompanied by their teachers, first headed for Zlatibor on the way spending the day at Skakavac waterfall where they competed in making barbecues and roasting hot dogs. The next day they visited the Uvac lake and the Ice cave and tried themselves out in hiking. The following morning they visited the Milesevo Monastery and spent the rest of the day enjoying the wonders of the Sopotnica waterfalls – they hiked, they drunk water directly from the spring, they balanced on logs, played catch the flag, they got wet as they splashed around through the water, they enjoyed lighting a fire and making pancakes with Nutella cream..The day ended in a domestic household where they enjoyed some domestic pies, cheese, ajvar, cakes, rose juice, etc and they spent the evening rolling down the hill through the tall grass. The trip ended with a water fight in the school yard. In the end everybody was tired and wet but happy.
At the beginning of February, Chartwell Secondary Students spend a week on a mountain attending a “School in the Snow”. Monday through Sunday the students enjoy the fresh mountain air while skiing or learning to ski. However, the academics are not forgotten – between skiing during the day from 9 to 4 and spending evenings skating, going for hot chocolate, walking or simply chatting, listening to music or watching movies, some hours are spent studying. The School in the Snow is organized in Austria, on Kopaonik, on Zlatibor...
