Year 1A joyfully welcomed the new season with a colourful and engaging Maths adventure! As autumn arrived, the students explored their current topic of place value through an exciting “Autumn Place Value Hunt”, turning the classroom into a space for discovery, teamwork, and mathematical thinking.
Working in small teams, the children searched for hidden number cards before taking on the challenge of building each number using autumn-inspired materials. They carefully grouped their objects into tens and ones, discussed their ideas with their teammates, and proudly explained how they had represented each number.
The activity brought plenty of excitement, curiosity, and smiles to the classroom while helping the students develop a stronger understanding of place value. Alongside their Maths skills, they also practised communication, cooperation, problem-solving, and learning from one another.
It was a wonderful way for Year 1A to welcome autumn — with colourful materials, busy minds, teamwork, and lots of fun along the way!
