Hello from the Y4c classroom! At Chartwell Lower Primary this week is mainly about school outings – having fun and learning along the way. That is why Year 4 paid a visit to the Museum of Science and Technology. The purpose of our visit to the Museum was to elevate students’ awareness of the significance of the scientific and technological culture, as well as to popularize science and its modern achievements.
This week in English, students are exploring an authentic, cross-curricular learning activity: Storyboards! Combining visual arts and literacy, students collaborated, problem-solved and compromised in groups. Students used leadership and initiative skills to delegate roles: Artists, Colourists, Planners, Writers and Leader.
The beginning of a new school year is always a happy and a busy time at Chartwell. Seeing one generation off and welcoming another is an emotional experience for everyone involved, but a rewarding one as well.
We celebrated the end of the Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland guided reading unit with a Tea Party!
